LAST WEEKS RESULTS
12/08/2009
EPSOM SALTS had no luck in running in his race and although finishing 4th the Handicapper chose not to adjust him in the ratings. BABY DOTTIE ran well to finish second beating the favourite. She should now receive a rating sufficient to enter the Watership Down at Ascot in September which will be her next objective. BACK AT THE RANCH ran a creditable 5th on his debut at Worcester and will return in approximately 3 weeks for an attempt at another "bumper" where his is likely to be ridden more prominently.
FORTHCOMING RACE ENTRIES
12/08/2009
ERMYN LODGE runs today at Sandown in a repeat of his last race over 1 mile 6 furlongs for 3 - y - o only. This is a better contest than the last one but we expect that he will give a good account of himself. On Thursday LEADENHALL LASS will run over 5 furlongs at Sandown and MAXWILL will have his first run for us over 7 furlongs at the same meeting. On the face of it he seems to be badly handicapped on previous form but both horses are very well in themselves and are expected to run well. Coming up next week starting on Monday 17th August YOUNG DOTTIE has two entries, one at Windsor over 1 mile and a second at Yarmouth over 7 furlongs and we will decide where she will run nearer to the date. Wednesday AUGUST 19th Folkestone, SEEKING STARDOM will have his second run and SIR WILLIAM ORPEN will make his racecourse debut. Both these entries are in the 7 furlong maiden auction.

Runners at Epsom 20.08.09
Young Dottie ran well in defeat at Windsor and has come out of the race very well. Consequently we have decided to declare her for Epsom on Thursday in the Mile+ Handicap, Class 4, for three year old's only. Rated 66-85. Epsom Salts is also declared at Epsom on Thursday and will run in the Ladies Amateur Derby. He is a previous course and distance winner and is expected to run well.

Seeking Stardom & Sir William Orpen
We decided not to declare Seeking Stardom and Sir William Orpen at Folkestone tomorrow due to firm ground. This may also deny Sir William Orpen from a run at Salisbury on Friday. However, Whiepa Snappa is a likely runner in the 1 Mile Nursery.
EPSOM SALTS WINS LADIES AMATEUR DERBY
24/08/2009
Epsom trained Derby winners are not too frequuent these days, so when EPSOM SALTS trained at Ermyn Lodge landed the Ladies Derby Handicap, ridden by Serena Brotherton, by a neck,at Epsom last Thursday 20th August, there were many who were very pleased with the result. He had won over course and distance previously and his trainer, Pat Phelan and members of The Epsom Racegoers in whose colours he races filled the winners enclosure, reminding us of the day that Motivator won The Derby. He is very well and we will update you through this news page on his future races in due course. On Friday 21st WHEIPA SNAPPER finished a close up third on his handicap debut over 1 mile at Salisbury.
