A place for all seasons
Ermyn Lodge, at the heart of the world-famous Epsom racing and training centre, has been responsible for winners on the Flat and over jumps for more than 70 years, with the 1971 Grand National hero Specify its highest profile graduate.

But that was when there were two distinct seasons, and Flat racing went into hibernation from the beginning of November until the following March. Times have changed, and Ermyn Lodge has changed with them.

The appearance of artificial surfaces means that Flat racing goes on all year round, and Ermyn Lodge has truly become a place for all seasons, catering for every type of horse, from early two-year-olds to experienced hurdlers and chasers.

The old training yard has been completely refurbished since the beginning of 2006, 22 of the 39 boxes look out on to the circular walkway, where the horses get ready to make their way to the outstanding Epsom racecourse gallops.

Within the training facility, there are paddocks for relaxation and a horsewalker for extra exercise. We pride ourselves on having qualified, dedicated staff, led by Pat Phelan, and we call on professional jockeys, such as Ian Mongan and Colin Bolger,
when necessary.
